The scent of this flower is near impossible to reproduce in perfumery due to the difficulty of extraction, but Roja’s Gardenia is therefore a clever reconstruction of the complex aroma of real gardenias using other materials. Jasmine and tuberose supply a similarly clotted-cream texture, mimosa and cedar mimic its strange, almost fungal earthiness, and peach and cloves provide that spiced, chewy fruitiness of the more tropical species of gardenia, particularly that of tiare.
